March 13, 2013

The day that most die-hard Redskins fans knew would come has came and the team’s special teams captain ace of the last 5 years has came, saw, and conquered the NFC East.  Earlier today Lorenzo Alexander, a 2012 Redskins Special Teams captain, became a new member of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West.  The news comes after many days of curious speculation from DC sports media people about one of the lone Gibbs-era players remaining on the team.

The special teams standout also played linebacker and has accumulated 6 seasons with the Redskins including 92 games, 162 combined tackles, 106 solo, 56 assisted, 8 sacks, and 5 passes defended.  The 29 year old has been instrumental in big games for the Redskins and has been known to lay the big hit on return men, most notably in a Monday night football game against the Eagles in 2010 when he laid a hit on Calvin.  Alexander also had a notable hit in 2012 in a game against Cleveland on his new Arizona Cardinals teammate Josh Cribbs.  Alexander is business partners with Kedric Golston and also is known for his generosity with his ACES Foundation and is also known as “OneManGang“.
