London Fletcher’s Ankle Surgery

March 6, 2013

The latest from the Redskins linebacker that does not involved retirement talk is the Twitter news that we got this morning that London is recovering from surgery on his left ankle.  The linebacker is also expected to have elbow surgery later this month.  It is surprising that London has decided to proceed with these procedures following the 2012 season, the linebacker normally holds off on any injury related surgeries.  However, it should be noted after having started in 240 games over 15 games it should be no surprise that the linebacker wants to rehab his injuries and ensure a safer and healthier finish to his NFL career.

Since coming to Washington Fletcher has been a standout at middle linebacker playing in 98 games with 560 tackles, 380 assisted tackles, 13 sacks, 25 QB hits, 53 passes defended, 8 forced fumbles, 28 tackles for loss, 12 interceptions, and has ranked in the top 15 linebackers in the league in wins probability with an average of 1.79 for his career in Washington.
